The SlingBox website claims that SlingPlayer for Web will work within the 64-bit Chrome browser on Mac, but I'm skeptical, given that the SlingPlayer for Web application itself seems to operate in 32-bit mode and therefore will not open in Catalina. Slingbox Alternatives? So (presumably) like all of us here on this thread, I am pretty reliant on my Slingbox, though have been f'd for a while, since I have a Catalina Mac and can't use the pop-out player normally, so I'm forced to use the damn webplayer which freezes constantly.

Remember Slingbox? Add it to your 'tech that died in 2020' list.

The company announced today that it will discontinue all products and services. If you happen to still be using a Slingbox, it will become inoperable two years from now, on Nov. 9, 2022. But you might want to explore other options now because while most models will work normally, they'll gradually lose their range of functionality as SlingPlayer apps are phased out and the number of supported viewing devices decreases.

“We’ve had to make room for new innovative products so that we can continue to serve our customers in the best way possible,” Slingbox says in an FAQ on its website. But the next question on its site is 'Will Slingbox be releasing any new products?' The answer? No.

In the last five years, many TV viewers have moved to live TV streaming services or live TV/DVR apps from their pay TV providers, making Slingbox-type hardware less necessary.

Slingbox notes that 'outdated or legacy versions of the SlingPlayer apps may be removed from the app stores without notice.' Right now, the following apps are still available:

The SlingPlayer (Free) for Android tablets, SlingPlayer (Paid) for Android smartphones, SlingPlayer for Roku, and SlingPlayer for Windows Phone are no longer available.

In advance, I'm sorry this is not an Apple product problem, but it's on my Mac and I thought this community could be of some help.
I have used my Slingbox Pro for a year or so. Recently I opened up my SlingPlayer app and the window isn't there. I can view it fullscreen, works fine, but when I exit fullscreen there's no window.
Does anyone know where I can access the pref file or cache file for SlingPlayer... or maybe how I can search for it? I've looked in spotlight and other ways, but if there is a pref file or cache file, it does not have the word 'sling' in it or named 'sling.'
Any help would be much appreciated.
PS. I have called Sling and they are ZERO help. I advise you never to call them. Asking your dog for tech help would yield better results. Unfortunately they do not maintain their own discussion board, hence the reason I've turned to Apple's discussion board. I hope you can help. Thanks.
